A law decree will be published to facilitate intake

From November 1st, 2016: easing of conditions to access labour market for foreign students graduated in France

The decree should be published on November 1st to "ease the access conditions to the labour market for foreign students who successfully completed their higher education studies in France and found a qualified job". The text "defines the list of degrees other than at worst equivalent to a Master's grade that allow a foreign student to obtain after his studies in France the issuance of a temporary residence authorisation". The decree "also defines the wage threshold beyond which the holder of [this] temporary residence authorisation may be granted a residence permit for a professional reason without the hob situation being opposable". The threshold is set to "one and half times the amount of minimal monthly wage".

The decree will be implemented as part of the law published on the 7th of March 2016 designed to facilitate the intake and integration of students who chose France as a study destination. The plurennial residence permit granted after one year of study was a long-standing demand from universities and student unions, and it is now active in all the country. Other innovation of the law is the talent passport, which facilitates the intake and stay in France of people with profile corresponding to the needs of current economy (young graduates, researchers, artists, high-level athlete, etc.).
